It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. My Impact Page is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

We aim for a minimum of WCAG 2.1 Level AA on all public and volunteer facing portions of the web application. Due to the flexible and customisable nature of our application, it is very possible for an organisation to introduce accessibility issues.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of My Impact Page , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for My Impact Page:

1. Branding and Content Generated by Organisations: We allow organisations to customise colours, fonts, and sizing of text and backgrounds of many elements to make their portal match their organisation branding. This can cause contrast issues as well as difficult to read content due to font size/face. We also allow organisations to create many different text blocks, which can be created in a non-accessible way because we cannot ensure that an organisation follows the guidelines. We do, however, provide an accessibility checker tool on any rich text content editing interfaces. If we observe branding settings that are particularly egregious, we will follow up with the administrators of that organisation. Contact the volunteer manager to report issues related to colours and content.
2. Optional Widgets and Embedded content: There are several social media widgets and sharing widgets that might not meet all accessibility guidelines. They are optional and included at the organisations choosing. We cannot control the content of widgets that are generated using embed code. They are all optional, so organisations can choose to not include them if they find they are causing accessibility concerns. Report any widget accessibility issues to support@betterimpact.com.
